Puppy, that is! At the source of all cuteness, cuteoverload.com, of
course. I've started to look at that site every day. I think Dante
and Stinky had taught me that it's important to smile every day, and
Slate.com doesn't always do it for me.

Just look at this roly-poly, velvety little sausage doing a face plant
in his food dish. Eeeeeeeeeeek!

I always seem to get lost when I wander into that site.

One of my favorite desktops is a baby picture of Kayla. Hard to believe she
was ever round and squishy and cuute.

I torture myself by looking at dogs all the time. I also don't think
I'll be able to have a dog for quite a while. I just don't have a
lifestyle that would be fair to a dog, not to mention that it would
certainly affect Oscar (I think she would be okay, but I think she
would revert to being much more skittish unless the dog were
preternaturally calm).

I've thought of helping walk dogs for one of the local shelters, but I
know I couldn't withstand the temptation.

Oh, very cute! It looks like it might be a similar breed to the
little rascal that dashed into my house two weeks ago, except she was
more mature, so not quite so velvety or saugage-like.

I imagine Boyfriend would run for the hills, but maybe KFC would be
okay? Maybe not.

I was sure wrong about my two. I was afraid Molly would be traumatized.
Not hardly.

Jake was raised with dogs and would wrestle and play with them. He hates
Kayla. And not just because she is big. He didn't much like her when she
was little either.

They also have a major case of sibling rivalry going. Jake is fairly cool
as in OK with her when it is just me and the two of them. Both were on the
recliner with me this afternoon. Jake was there first and not about to get
down when Kayla jumped up. I don't think Kayla realized he was there when
she jumped up, but not about to get back down and lose face.

But I swear if Charlie walks in the room, Jake will make Kayla run at him
just because it gets her yelled at. It isn't like she ever catches him or
would hurt him it she did.

I'm in exactly the same position as you. My friend often invites me to go
to a whippet show with her but I can only do it about once a year. I get
terrible whippet fever when I do go. "I want another whippet, I want
another whippet.." Or two, or three.
It's just not possible at the moment so I try and avoid temptation as much
as I can.
It's dreadful. I can't even go and look at my friend's new whippet puppies
because I know I would steal one and rush home with it.

Doesn't help that whippets want to chase and catch anything that moves. KFC
might be willing to give up moving around but BF might not like the
attention.

At least Kayla only wants to chase anything that moves fast. I love
watching Molly sneak by her. And Kayla knows what's going on. Just
anything past a certain speed and she's outa here. Plus she only wants to
chase, not catch.

That's one of our biggest training things right now. Getting her to stop
when I say stop. She will make a mad dash and then turn and look at me "I
know mommy but I just couldn't help it"

Jo
