Happy (Noisy) New Year

I was woken last night a couple hours after going to bed by intermittent
*thud*thud*thud*thud*thud*thud*thud*thud* and wondered "what the @#$#%^4
are those danged cats up to this time.... but then then I realized the
thuding was coming from *OUTSIDE* the house.

Fireworks.

It was Midnight.

I heard fireworks for a while last night. But they weren't coming from
where I live. Since most people who live here don't stay up late (the
"Ball Drop" at the club was 10:30 LOL) I don't know if anyone saw them.
I could hear them but it didn't matter. I was up watching the
Twilight Zone marathon on the Syfy channel and talking to John. Persia
was curled on the couch next to me. It was a nice way to ring in the
year

I got to bed shortly before midnight, and listened to the noise for a while.
I could have sworn it was coming from right in front of my house, but I was
too tired to get up and look. Fortunately, most of it was the "thud-thud"
kind, rather than the loud "bang-bang" kind.
