Default Purrs for Archer, Please?

Today, just after I posted about him, Archer got really, really ill. He
vomited all over my bed, the bedroom floor, the stairs, and in the great
room upstairs. Not a hairball, just liquidy food. Then, when he came to
lie down in my lap, I noticed that his eyes were a bit crusty (which *never*
happens to him since we give them L-Lysine, prophylactically to prevent
herpes, with each feeding). His nose, while not hot, was warmer and drier
than usual. He also had fits of shivering (I turned on my electric blanket
and turned off the ceiling fan and that seemed to help some. If he has
problems eating tonight or in the morning, or is still exhibiting any signs
of illness, it's off to the vet ASAP.

We could use some purrs that this is just something minor which will go away
quickly. I'm really dreading, for him, the visit to the vet (I mentioned in
the post, "Archer's Love", his bad experience with the vet and now he's
terrified of going there).

Purrs are on the way, but it really sounds as though he should go in.

Default Purrs for Archer, Please? - UPDATE

I pulled up the skin at the nape of his neck and it bounced right back down
again, so he's not dehydrated. I'd seen him take a drink from the water
fountain earlier today - he doesn't drink very often because he eats canned
food which is about 75% water. He hasn't thrown up any more since he first
did, he stopped shivering, and he seems to be comfortable laying on my
electric blanket (I have it folded down so he can lay on the warm part
directly just through a flannel sheet instead of through the thick quilt and
then a thermal blanket and *then* the electric blanket (I get a bit cold at
night ;). His nose, however, is still dry and warm (but not hot), and his
ears are not too warm (I don't have a rectal thermometer, so I can't tell if
he's running a low-grade fever). DH fed the cats and didn't notice whether
or not Archer ate (but my cats don't come running to the food bowls, they
browse whenever they feel like. I think it's safe to wait the night and see
if he's still iffy in the morning before booking an appointment with the
vet.

This post is copied on the first post I made about Archer today.

I hope he'll be all right! I think that Archer is just such a boy
cat, that he should be cited as an example of how a typical bouncy boy
should be.
