I am so sorry, for Sadie, the other cats and for you. I wish there was
something I could do to help, but all I can do is send purrs and soothing
vibes. We're hoping these people get what they deserve, one way or the
other.

Sweetie, I wish I could cure your neighborhood for you. I think that
the only thing you can try to do, is buy the kitty, if the person will
sell her. Maybe if people donated enough money to off set part of the
spay cost, this person will get at least the females spayed? I can't
give a definite, only you know the real situation over there. Purrs,
hugs, and anti depression thoughts from all of us here for you and
little Sadie.

We are sending purrs to you and to Sadie; I know it doesn't make you
feel any better to point out that you've done your best, though it's
true. All I can think to do is move, and sneak Sadie with you when
you go. I do hope you can find a solution to this neighbor situation;
it truly sucks.

Illegal, yes; underhanded, perhaps. But definitely not unethical. If you
really felt it was unethical, I'll bet you wouldn't have done it. It
sounds to me like it was the most ethical thing you could do under those
circumstances. And that's what ethics are about - weighing the pros and
cons and making the best decision you can. Sometimes you have to break
a law because the law itself is wrong.

What's sad, and I think this is probably true in Ginger-lyn's case, is that the
neglectful owners really don't care a flip about the cat itself. They just care
about *winning* and throwing their weight around and the cat is just a pawn in
all of it. When the situtation comes down to money, all that devotion to their
cat fizzles out quick. The lady I stole the cat from threatened to sue. I was
lucky that one of our board members is a lawyer herself and she sort of
challenged her to do just that, and we'd just take the whole thing to court,
photos of the condition the cat was in and all.. We never heard from her again.
