My SIL lives in Punta Gorda. She had phone service (underground
wires), but no electric. She lost her carport and shed and the lanai
on the other side of the mobile home. One window was broken out, but
the mobile home was livable. She also lost Honeybun, her little cat
that was in the lanai. She's hoping that Honeybun survived and is
just too scared to come home.

We'll sure be purring for Honeybun. Cats that get outside under normal
conditions shift into survival mode and their behavior alters radically.
I can just imagine what a poor, scared kitty would do when he/she was
outside due to hurricane damage. Please do let us know when you hear more.

Purrs coming from CatNipped, CatNapped, Bandit, Demi, Jessie and Sammy for
Honeybun and all the other poor creatures misplaced from that awful
hurricane.

Hugs,

Yesterday I finally heard from a friend who lives in Punta Gorda. He'd
just gotten his phone service back, but still has no electricity. The
house had some minor damage but was definitely liveable, and the
family was safe (whew!)

I hope all our hurricane-related MIA catslaves and masters are MIA
because they can't get online due to no electricity or phone and not
for reasons worse!

Thanks, Dan. Honeybun was a starving kitten when he showed up on her
doorstep a couple of years ago. She had to keep him out on the lanai
because Winnie, her other cat, hated him. She's seen Winnie since the
hurricane, but not Honeybun (as of last Sunday).

Thank you. There have been so many animals that have been displaced
by this. My SIL has hopes that as long as they don't find Honeybun's
broken little body that he'll come home eventually.

I don't know which would be worse, living in a hurricane area or in
tornado alley. Although, at least with a hurricane you know it's
coming ahead of time, unless, of course, it does what Charley did and
turn.
