Purr request
I've got THE best vet around. I explained the situation (and that my dogs had attacked the cat which was not mine) and accepted financial responsibility for the vet bill but the vet pretty much treated it like a stray and doing it no charge. So, please pray for this cats recovery and that it's owner will see my sign and call me. __________________ Somewhere somebody is missing their kitty. I sure hope he/she makes a full recovery, and is returned home. Lots and lots of purrs and best wishes for the kitty to recover completely. It's good to hear the dog owner took the kitty to the vet immediately. Polonca and Soncek I found out a while back that if you find a stray and want to have it treated my a vet DO NOT TELL THE VET IT IS A STRAY because most of the time they will not treat it like they would your own. They have to wait and see if an owner comes forward or whatever. Just let them think it is yours which if it was a stray and you TAKE IT IN it would be yours. Prayers and purr for the furbaby. |

Purr request
What a wonderful, responsible dog owner. So glad to know that the cat's
injuries were not apparently terrible at that time. Hoping that she remains well and is taken home by a family who missed her or goes to a family who will adopt her. When our Mr. Pumpkin was so terribly injured by two dogs belonging to the same family we were glad when they made a payment to the vet but then said they would not make any more. We had to sue them for the remainder of the bill which was approximately $2,800. Mr. Pumpkin came out of it fine but it was a difficult thing to happen all the way around. -- Charleen Mr. Pumpkin Aggie Marble Victor Velcro "Gandalf" wrote in message ... I found this on a forum I frequent; it was in the 'off topic' area. It's a bad situation, but the dog owner is trying to make it right. The poor kitty could use the power of purr: (copied directly from the post) Hey Cat lovers, I'd like to humbly request that you call upon whatever deity you can relate to in whichever manner you relate to help a cat that my dog Bodhi attacked today. My girlfriend and I were preparing to take our dogs to the vet when they flew the coop and took off out into the neighborhood. While on the lam Bodhi and Mikey apparently found a big fat Tabby and Bodhi shook it real good. After nearly breaking my neck crossing a barbed wire fence and 40 feet of thick briars I got to the cat that was floating half dead in a creek. I jumped into the creek and tore my dog off the cat and lifted the cat out of the water, I wasn't sure if the cat was alive at this point. The dogs were'nt giving up yet and Bodhi kept jumping at the cat. My girlfriend finally got down to us and was able to distract the dogs long enough for me to walk along a downed tree out of the creek and over much of the briars while holding the cat. My girlfriend then drove the dogs back and locked them in the house and then came and picked myself and the cat up. We headed off to the vet then. The cat and I were both soaked but the cat seemed a bit better on the way. It began making some noise and was breathing. Once we got to the vet they took the cat in immediately and checked for shock and administered some pain med. They couldn't find any serious wounds and are mainly worried about damage from shaking such as neck wounds. I've got THE best vet around.
