Default I seem to have inhaled a kitten

I have a godawful cold which has gone down into my lungs.

Every morning when I try to breathe through those gummed-up tubes,
there is a sound from my lungs exactly like a tiny kitten meowing.
It's loud enough for other people to hear.

(At other times it's more like a fax machine inside my chest. I'm
waiting for the sound of a kitten being put through a fax machine...)

Have you seen a physician? I hope you are not a smoker. Years ago, my
then neighbor was coughing hard so I went in to see if I could help.
There she was sitting in a chair smoking between coughs. She told me
the DR had diagnosed pneumonia -- and she was a registered nurse. IMHO

You could be turning into a parrot. They're also good at mimicking the
sounds of machinery. (Reminds me of a comedy routine I once heard about
a parrot who could do "a mean milk steamer" [from an espresso machine].
That would be hilarious to hear.)

I have sometimes been a bit wheezy and thought I was hearing a little
cat mewing. Don't know what the furries thought of it, or whether they
could even hear it.

Hope you cough up the kitten soon...
