All the other group are sending their purrs and prayers for a fast recovery.

These are coming from this house too. We know you have good nursing care.

I'm getting better. I will try to go to work tomorrow, although Micki
doesn't think I should. I shouldn't sit at the keyboard too long or I
_won't_ feel like riding the train and the bus tomorrow. I do have to
type up a dispute among my caregivers over on the other ng and then I
will ice my back, watch the Yankees lose another game :-( and then go
to sleep.

At least you GET the Yankees games! I'm lucky if I get a game every two
weeks!

I know I'm dating myself, but whatever happened to all the games being
broadcast on WPIX-11? And fighting with your dad over the one color TV
in the house, because he wanted to watch the Mets game on WOR-9?

For those who are wondering, I am originally from Middlesex County, NJ.

Dating yourself? I didn't have a color TV until after I married and
moved out of the house.

Heck we didn't have TV at all until I told all the neighbors we
couldn't afford one. That would have been about 1951.

Still remember my brother with the 13 inch black and white TV and two
portable radios trying to keep track of everything.

And yes he grew up to be a read electronic gadget nut.

We didn't have TV at all until I was a senior in high school. That was 1957
(which "dates" me). My father kept insisting that color TV was coming, and
neighbors thought that was ridiculous. I had some eye problems that
required evaluation by a specialist. My best friends's mother said I
wouldn't have eye problems if I didn't watch so much TV. When I told her we
didn't *have* TV, she suddenly grew very quiet.

Oh MaryL Lee and I can relate to hat. Our mothers were told that if we
didn't sit so close to the TV, which we got in my senior year a few years
later than yours, that we wouldn't have eye problems. Funny thing was we
had been the way we were for 16 or so years by then. Lee is several years
younger than me but her mom got the same sermon.
