Default Cats and Chickens

I was told they would never get along. Well Im breaking them. 3 cats
are mingling with 7 chickens. Its so funny to watch. Now I have a dog
to break in with them. I love my animals free so its this or nothing.
Im going to make a slide show soon of the cats with the chickens. The
cats are set back by the chickens beak and talons... lol. they want
to attack but they are not sure its a wise idea.. Take care, a
peaceful cat

You must love your animals maimed and dead, too.

I don't know about this. Chickens are not exactly defenseless. Those
can be pretty big birds.

You're making false assumptions here.

If the OP's cats and dog can access the chickens, so can foxes, a coyotes,
or the neighbors dogs and cats.

Precisely. And packs of dogs, etc., can get at the cats.

Typical asshole "be fwee wild thing, and I don't like cleaning cat boxes"
attitude. This jerkoff will be coming in here whining when a pit bull
eviscerates one of his cats, just watch. Ugh.

In Central America, animals roam free and cats do not kill chickens.
I can remember my grandmother telling a tale of her life in Hungary as
a child which was betweem 1890 and 1900. She said if a cat killed a
chicken, it would be thrown onto the chopping block and its head would
be cut off immediately. Cats were to keep the small vermin away and
chickens were for people to eat. Its the same in the interior of
Panama today. Of course, Panamanian in cities coddle their cats just
as we do. My grandmother also said that cats would jump in the
cradle and smother babies and so should not be kept in the house.

Now now, no casting aspersions at bit bulls. There was just a story in
the local paper
(http://www.newsday.com/news/local/lo...,7511495.story)
about these loving animals and the bad reputation they suffer from.

Actually, the most likely breed to kill and eat the chickens is us.

That was just a random breed choice. I love pit bulls. I just about died
when one of them was pulled from a house on Animal Cops Detroit
on Animal Planet and he had had his muzzle taped shut and was used
as a "bait dog." They let the other dog attack him when he could not\
defend himself. It is a much abused breed. I need to stop watching that
stinking show.
