So a lot of this didn't happen really to me, but to my bf, Guy...

He was out with a friend, and giving me some much needed peace and
quiet (I had been driving him to doctor appts and dialysis all week)
and when he came home he said....

"I almost brought home another cat today...."

After I had finished picking up my jaw, he told me that he had been in
an industrial/commercial area at a store and saw this kitten in a
parking lot under a truck. Looked about 12 weeks old, was white and
soft gray and had tiny black stripes on either cheek like a
mustache.

Of my course my reaction at this description? "Awwwwwwwww"

It walked right up to Guy, and let him pick him up. It started
kneading Guy's chest and even leaned forward to give kitty kisses.
Guy was smitten and looked around and didn't see anyone looking for a
cat.

He thought the worse, that it was a stray, and his instinct was to
bring him home, but he knew what my reaction would be and we could NOT
have four cats. We are on a tight enough budget as is and I am
constantly stressed out about it.

Guy asked around at some of the shops and fortunately the kitten
turned out to be a shop cat nearby. Guy took him and the kitten
jumped out of his arms and happily trotted home.

As Guy concluded the story, he said, "I'm glad it had a home, but MAN,
it was toooooo close."

The kitten sounds adorable, I mean PAINFULLY cute, but i'm really glad
it did in fact have a home. I couldn't deal with another cat. Vet
bills, vaccine shots, I'm sure Mischief, Mayhem and Imp would HATE
him, and i'd have to clean and kitten proof EVERYTHING.

and apparently it was very very close to coming home...

whew!

He (or she) just sounds too cute. He'll get catnapped for sure if
they don't put a collar on him. Hopefully, he's already chipped,
at least.
