There's so much about Maru that reminds me of Caliban - the way he
moves, the way he looks around in amazement at the world, the slow way
he plays with a toy, his love of boxes, his roly poly figure...

I had to LOL the other day - they used Maru's videos in a cat litter
commercial (theme was cats like boxes - clean smelling boxes)....

Hope they didn't infrrnge on copyright in doing so...

Maru is one of the most photogenic cats I've ever seen. And then, of course,
is is a very personable cat.

Then it should theoretically be possible to get box-and-Caliban videos
that are as funny as Maru's. Maybe like one of him grunting and

When you look at a 3 or 4 minute video of Maru, you are looking at the
results of many, many hours of work, spent waiting for Maru to do what
you want...often more than once, so it looks nice.

Then the video has to be edited, which is also time consuming.

Making a video of a cat is probably only slightly easier than herding
cats
