How to read Bar Codes

Having worked at a wholesale company, I know that the barcode doesn't
necessarily originate from the country of manufacture of the product. It
can also originate from the country the product was made for. For
example a wholesale company orders a product manufactured in another
country for sale in its chain of stores here, they can put their own
barcode on it.

This applies to cat food or toys too, just to try to drag it on topic.
