"badwilson" wrote in message ... At 6 am while I was still sleeping, someone broke into my house. It was a big man. No, it was a very big man. He stormed up the staircase, thundering, shaking the walls. He stormed toward my bedroom as I cowered in fear under my blanket. He jumped on the bed and pinned me down with his pointy feet and headbutted me with his furry head. Then he turned around and stormed out of the room and back down the stairs. I could hear him trampelling around downstairs in the living room before he came charging up the stairs again and into the bedroom. Again, I was pinned down by his pointy feet and headbutted against my will. This was just unfair! I should open my eyes to get a look at the *******. Dare I? What have I got to lose? Ok, I squinted and took a peek. With a cheerful, lively, loving companion like Vino, it is a pleasure to get up and start the day. Uuuuggghhh, not so early! I like to get up at 8:30. Any earlier and I run out of stuff to do in the day and end up bored in the evening. He is a big round fuzzbucket a lot of the time, but a few times a day he turns into one of those long, lithe nocturnal type jungle animals with headlamp eyes. Hope nobody broke in and is gonna come into my bedroom. That would be embarrassing 'cause I'm naked. Maybe I should start wearing pajamas at night? Nah, couldn't do it, too hot even with aircon. Well, I sure hope it's not a break-in!" Seriously, that was the first thought that entered my head. I was half asleep I guess. Then I was quite relieved when it was Vino. -- Britta Check out pictures of Vino at: http://photos.yahoo.com/badwilson click on the Vino album |

When I've gone to bed, Betty's behavior suddenly changes. First, she becomes a little bloodhound, and circles the bedroom, sniffing everything very carefully. Then, she'll guard the bedroom door briefly, and sometimes she'll start running all over the house for a few minutes, making galloping sounds. She never gallops when I'm up! |

At night they turn into guard cats, fierce protectors of their sleeping hoomin. Also, nighttime is when greebling activity is at it's highest. Guarding the hoomin becomes of utmost importance then. You are lucky to have a cat. I don't know how you ever survived the night without one ;-) -- Britta Check out pictures of Vino at: http://photos.yahoo.com/badwilson click on the Vino album |
