Otis: A Snowy Day

Hi the

I went outside to call the boys back and saw Otis across the street and one
house over. He eagerly jumped up on their fence, not apparently knowning
that it was only 1/2 inch wide on the top. Over the other side he went and
into 1 1/2 feet of snow. "MRRROOWWWWWWW" I heard from across the street and
he kept it up while crossing the wet cold road.

Instead of walking along the cleared sidewalk to our house, he went right up
the neigbour's driveway and sat yowling on their front door step. Two
thoughts from me: 1) pipe down Otis or we're going to have neighbour
problems all over again & 2) no way am I going to trudge through the snow
and carry you home, as he was clearly asking me to do.

Chester would have figured out that sidewalks were clear. Otis first leaped
into the neighbour's flower bed and took a nice long pee. THEN, he plowed
through the snow between our houses to come home. Let's see, dirt + snow =
muddy paw prints on new carpet. Couldn't catch him as he streaked in the
house.

That's my boy ...

Ouside in my garden: damp grass + mole hills = muddy paw prints on me,
particularly if I happen to be wearing a white t-shirt... As the cats run in
from the garden, take one look at me and decide they simply *must* jump up on
me for a nose touch, cheek rub and milk tread of muddy paws on an ample bosum
covered by a white, rapidly becoming muddy brown/grey t-shirt...

Cheers, helen s

Only crazy cat people would put up with these affectionately destructive
felines :D

Yeah - he's too much of a creature of habit rather than a thinker. Today,
he's being quite lazy just sunning himself on the front step...

.... it's Chester who's in that backyard now. First he went up and down the
fence between our houses, then flung himself off into their yard. Since
then he's marched over a couple of times. He's just so happy. It's a warm
sunny day (warm Chinook winds) and he's pixilated!!!!!!!!! I think I'll
have to go over and have a chat with the neighbours before this gets out of
hand. What's wrong with our backyard??

Thanks Polonca - that's sort of wishing that pigs could fly but I'm sure
that Otis is trying his best :-)
