We're going for a record here!

I've got it!! The reason Sonya is STILL pregnant is that she wants to
go for the Guinness World record as the longest domesticated feline
pregnancy. SO, if we all chant "go for it, Sonya." and purr that she
lasts another week we should qualify for that record.

BTW I told Sonya to hang in there for another week and go for the record
and she gave me the most sour look I've ever seen on a cat.

Maybe the Easter Bunny will deliver them. One will just have to be named
Bunny. Purring that Sonya will be alright and have an easy delivery. MLB

This entire thing reminds me of those episodes of Animal Planet's
"That's My Baby" in which the mother-to-be doesn't cooperate. I
specifically remember this one (although I don't recall the animal - a
llama, maybe? something very hairy, anyway) where they'd said over and
over the gestation period was 3xx days and how they always gave birth
at night and in a protected area.

Comes the day, the owner has everything set up, but nothing happens.
Comes the day after, nothing. And the day after that, nothing. Comes
something like 3 weeks later, the owner comes back from the store in
the middle of the day, and mama had had her baby, in the middle of the
corral, in her own time, while she and the camera crew were gone. :)

Our mare did that; my roommate and the owner of the barn kept a
heel-and-toe watch on the poor girl for three weeks, even getting up in
the middle of the night to check on her every 15 minutes -- no foal.
They both knew that she liked to be alone to give birth (this was her
fourth or fifth pregnancy), but they just would not leave her! Finally
one Sunday, barn-owner's wife dragged him off to church and Jean was
going to come home for a hot bath and a real meal, after working the
early shift. Patches was showing absolutely no signs of impending
birth; in fact, she was eating a hearty breakfast when B-O left. Twenty
minutes later, when Jean showed up to check on her before coming home,
there was a lovely little boy and a smirking mare...

Purrfect!! Many years ago I was given a bunny as an Easter gift.
Since the baby is called a "kit", I named her "Kitty Wabbit" (groan).

Ugh. Down the street from me is someone who sells bunnies. When I
drove by tonight on my way home they were setting up some elaborate
covered booth in their front yard just for the holiday.

I just don't know how people can be so irresponsible. They weren't dying
them, too, were they?
