Days of their own

Buster continues to looove laundry day. He hops into the laundry
hamper and when you look inside, you can see him looking back with
huge, black, excited eyes. He paws and bats all around the holes of
the laundry basket as I'm filling it, and gets right in as I pick it
up. He hunkers down and just purrs and purrs as I carry him around in
the laundry basket.

Right now, he's in the freshly laundered basket of whites, some of it
still so warm that it's practically hot to the touch. He's stretched
out indecently on top of it, really enjoying himself.

Dot, on the other hand, is not quite as into laundry day as Buster,
but she has her own day - yard work day. That's when I take her out in
her walking jacket and long lead as I prune or rake around the hedges.
Dot loves chomping on grass, or rolling around on the warm driveway.

She's actually been acting quite crazy lately, because she wishes that
she could go outside every day. She sometimes tries to slip by me as
I'm going out, and she meows and pokes me expectantly.

It's funny to see how much the kitties enjoy these little things in
life. I wish that I could make every moment like that for them, for
all the days of their lives.

That's funny - I love that! Reminds me of Roxy - she loves to be carried
around in boxes, too.

That is sweet.

His little hobby is a lot like Roxy's. Except that Buster likes full
baskets of laundry, and he likes being paraded more than being swung
around. It's rather funny, because he's usually quite fussy about how
he's handled, and he loves his "palanquin".

When I am sorting laundry, Tiger would like to jump in the basket but I
don't let him. When I am through, I put the basket on the floor and
Tiger jumps in. Then I put the basket on the scales to weigh Tiger
(usually 24 pounds).

Funny! Sounds like my two boys on sheet changing day. I have to fight
them both to get sheets off the bed, then back on.
