anybody want some cat food?

Hi, guys...

Well, the vet sold me some food to feed to one of my kitties for a
supposed stomach/intestinal disorder (it was worms). Sold me a big box
of this "Eukanuba Low-Residue Adult" canned cat food. Told me to feed
it just to one cat (yeah, riiight...ever try to pull THAT one off in a
house with 7 furkids?)

Kitty in question just gave me a dirty look when I tried to feed him
the food. After taking him to another vet, he was given some
amoxicillin, which fixed him right up. The other vet won't take the
food back, even with the receipt, because the package was opened (I
have 10 unopened cans)

Anybody want this stuff? I'm only asking enough for postage, I'm not
looking to 'make' anything on this. I just want it gone, but don't
want to throw it away.

Like I said, 10 unopened can of"Eukanuba Veterinary Diets Low-Residue
Adult" cat food. I can't feed this stuff to the other cats, or even
the outside ferals...it's not meant to be fed to just anyone, only
kitties with problems.

Anybody want it? Anybody got any ideas on what to do with it?

PB

I'd give it to the local animal shelter... they've got to get problem
kitties occasionally, and that stuff's EXPENSIVE!

Why not donate it to an animal shelter or a local rescue group. They would
be delighted to get it.

I just posted a suggestion that you donate the food. However, *then* I did
a little research and discovered that this food is simply a
highly-digestible food that produces less waste. I would think that it
would be fine to feed this product to any of your cats, as long as they do
not have health problems that require specific prescription diets.

Well, the "donates" have it...I shall call around to the local
shelters, see who wants it.

I would feed it to my other cats, but when I initially triedto feed it
to Mr. Hooha (the problem kitty), the others gave me this look, like
"And, you're not expecting US to eat that are you??"

This is the diet that my Jasper is on. Of course, Luna seems to like it.
I asked the vet about Luna eating it and the response was that all
things considered, it probably was not enough nutrients for her...or not
the right combo...whatever.

I love it. Freecycle has saved a lot of my old stuff from the
dumpster, and I've gotten a few odds and ends through it, too.

Yup, I've had good experiences with it, both ways, too. I think it's a
wonderful idea! If you can't, or don't want to, sell it on ebay, list it on
freecycle.
