Science Diet Light vs Indoor Cat - mixing and dental

Just got off the phone with Science Diet and still a question or two:
Science Diet Light says good for dental.
Science Diet Indoor Cat does not say good for dental but does say good
for shedding.

Both products have almost the same profile except the Indoor Cat has
more fiber, about 20% more, and both have about 4x the fiber as regular
foods. Although Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) are mentioned, I cannot get
the particulars, like which fatty acids, Omega-3, Omega-6, DHA, EPA,
and what percentages. Anybody know? Are they identical in the two
products or what? This might be a good time for Steve to jump in since
this is tough info to get. Can I just ask for the EFA profile then?

What to do? Science Diet advises not mixing foods. But I might like to
mix the two. I gather since Indoor Cat has about 20% fewer calories per
cup, it is not made as dense and probably that comes from the extra 20%
fiber which is not dense to begin with, cellulose in this case. Dense
in trees but not in cat food? Don't like that word, especially when I
saw it in bread, thought wood chips, but that's not fair or is it?

Now the feline in question, using only the Light, as I recall, her fur
was too dry and she shed and shed. She also craved the Light after a
while, like a junk food. I supplemented with canned foods, and the fur
became normal and apparently much less shedding. The canned foods have
usually been premium or almost premium, low phosphorus Science Diet and
the low phosphorus Fancy Feast when I can find those varieties that are
low phosphorus. I have tried Wellness, Newman's, PetGuard, organic
PetGuard at $3 a big can, but I get tired of throwing out food she
won't eat. Even the organic sausage from New Zealand, a special frozen
lamb centered cat food, she refused completely, and that's the best I
could find, slightly blanched rawish food, certified organic.

Anyway what to get? She is now on Purina Weight Management Formula. I
would ike her to lose about 20% of her weight, from 11 pounds to 9
pounds in the course of the year. She is not fat, per se, but has the
hanging pouch which I doubt is the fight pouch, I think it's just fat.
I can sort of feel her ribs but it's probably a fat covering feeling.

She will also eat Royal Canin's Indoor 27.

Any ideas before I commit to a big bag of dry food?

I give a few kibbles of SD Oral Care each day. I think it's way too
high in fat, although that probably keeps it together for teeth
cleaning, but like a toothbrush here.

I can tell you that Science Diet Light Hairball Formula is the *exact* same
food as Science Diet Indoor Formula. I called there and they told me so.
They just call it two different things for marketing purposes. Some people
like to buy food that is called Indoor while others prefer food that is
called Light.
